Richmond Multicultural Community Services

For over 30 years, Richmond Multicultural Community Services (RMCS) provided services to newcomers, immigrants, and refugees. Our hope is that each single client lives meaningfully in Richmond. Our vision is for a harmonious and inclusive society that values equality and diversity. At RMCS our mission is to foster intercultural harmony through leadership, collaboration, and quality service delivery. We are known for the services we provide to support the immigrant and refugee communities in Richmond. We are passionate about our role in the settlement, education, and integration of immigrants from the day they arrive in Richmond. We strive to welcome newcomers by assisting with their initial settlement needs. RMCS offers one-on-one support for newcomers to Canada as well as English language training, seniors programs, youth programs, and job search assistance including resume & cover letter writing support. Civic Service Union 52

Civic Service Union 52 (CSU 52) represents over 6,000 technical, professional, administrative and clerical workers within the City of Edmonton, Edmonton Public Library, TELUS World of Science – Edmonton, EPCOR, and Capital Power. CSU 52 provides a collective voice for negotiations with our members’ employers, including negotiation of wage increases, promoting improved benefits, safe and fair working conditions, and fairness and equality within the workplace. We represent our members’ interests within the workplace. CSU 52 is committed to engaging its members, providing them with timely relevant information, creating opportunities for members to come together to share and advance common interests, and to provide members with learning and educational opportunities. Members are encouraged to become involved in the Union at a level and time commitment that is amenable to their life. CSU 52 is governed by an Executive Board elected from and by the membership. The Executive Board is responsible for leading the strategic direction of the Union, while representing the interests of the membership. The President is seconded to the Union office on a full time basis to provide day to day direction in the operation of the Union. Committees of the Union help carry out member based activities from member support to social functions. CSU 52 Shop Stewards are a cornerstone of our Union, building relationships with our members in the workplace and helping to ensure that the provisions of our Collective Agreements are adhered to.
