BeTheSpark is a cultural change campaign, designed to motivate, inspire and celebrate innovation-driven entrepreneurship across the whole of Wales. It is a campaign based on a proven blueprint designed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has a core objective to position innovation driven entrepreneurship as a national imperative to create and nurture more innovative, home grown profitable companies. Wales is a small country, with a busy entrepreneurial ecosystem - so it's important to ensure the landscape is visible, connected and simple for all of us to navigate. BeTheSpark aims to address this and gives everyone the opportunity to join the movement, commit to taking personal action and to affect change in their community. The success of this campaign relies on all of us embracing the opportunity that lies before us. It's not the sole responsibility of one stakeholder or one stakeholder group. We must all work together to generate momentum behind the movement.

Humane Slaughter Association

The HSA is an independent charity working towards achieving the highest worldwide standards in food animal welfare during transport, marketing and slaughter. It is the charity which cares beyond the farm gate. Every day, millions of animals around the world are transported, marketed and slaughtered for food. The potential for distress and suffering for these animals is immense and comes at a time when they are most vulnerable. The HSA is the only UK charity exclusively promoting the humane treatment of all food animals in markets, during transport, at slaughter and killing for welfare reasons or disease control. The HSA's vision is to improve the welfare of food animals between the farm gate and slaughter around the world. It does this by: 1) providing technical information and advice on all aspects of animal handling, transport and slaughter 2) training in humane methods of handling and slaughter of livestock 3) educational and technical publications 4) independent advice to governments, other welfare organisations and the food industry 5) regular visits to markets and slaughterhouses 6) providing funding for research projects 7) development and application of scientific advances 8) providing grants towards the improvement of animal welfare during transport, marketing and slaughter Humane Slaughter Association - Charity registered in England no 1159690 : Charitable Incorporated Organisation

Orphans to Ambassadors

Our Mission: "Orphans to Ambassadors provides disadvantaged and orphaned children the opportunity to rise out of poverty with sustainable education and practices. The skills, knowledge, and abilities that come from developing their own long-term resource solutions empower children and allow them to become ambassadors of goodwill and sustainability to other children and communities around the world" – Jake Gentry, Founder About Us: We are a young nonprofit working with orphans and sustainable technology to create cleaner futures. Not only do the technology, education, and practices give children cleaner water and food, brighter and safer energy, and more free time to be kids, we're also creating renewable foundations in developing countries where any growth means more technology: the cleaner now the better tomorrow. What We Do: Orphans to Ambassadors is making green ideas and technology work in orphanages around the world. We've tapped nature by storing rainwater, halved energy budgets with better-burning brick stoves, and brought 10 more hours to the day for studying and play with LED Lights and small solar panels.

Chicago Maritime Arts Center

Chicago Maritime Arts Center is Dedicated to Chicago's Youth. ENCOURAGING KIDS to find themselves and new opportunities for their lives through teamwork, learning new skills and tool use, culminating in a sense of accomplishment and increased self-esteem. Introducing many of them to the Chicago River and Lake Michigan for the first time, and exploring marine ecology with them, helps instill a deeper sense of community. OUR VISION is aiding in the development of youth and enhancement of their lives, by providing unique, fun opportunities and experiential learning, and opening new pathways through expanded experiences, maritime arts, boat building creativity, water and safety, community participation, and getting to know their beautiful City better. HANDS ON GUIDANCE is offered to each and every program and camp participant ages 11-17. We conduct goal-based projects to encourage teamwork and communication and spur initiative. These experiences foster interpersonal development, STEM, and life skills while encouraging water recreation, planet stewardship, creativity, and alternative vocational opportunities to broaden the horizon of each child. Over 60% of people are visual learners. Kids benefit from a reminder that while book learning is important, industrial arts and life skills hold importance as well. Our programs and camps are designed to impart the basic life skills families and schools offer. EVERY CHILD MATTERS.
