SEHCO - South East Hampshire Community Outlook

SEHCO is a registered charity that was established to provide activities for young people living in social housing in Portsmouth and South East Hampshire. It exists to promote community – and we run three thriving community centres, each of which is available for hire. We are also leading Step Forward a major Big Lottery funded initiative that delivers arts and sports activities for local 10 – 18 year olds. Our latest project is the development of Unit3 Studio, an arts centre situated in the heart of a social housing estate in Fareham. To provide these services, SEHCO has a small number of paid employees and a group of active and committed volunteers. It also helps voluntary groups throughout the area that have similar aims. In the decade since it was created, SEHCO has secured funding from First Wessex, Lloyds TSB, The Big Lottery, Portsmouth City Council, Fareham Borough Council and others to help undertake this work. A progressive organisation, SEHCO continues to evolve but it remains true to its roots. It is led by the community, for the community. GIG-ARTS

Dynamic and award-winning, Gig-Arts is a national charity registered in England and Wales which helps artists of all abilities to shine through creative enterprise events. The charity supports school children, college and university students and vulnerable adults with learning disabilities. We are committed to helping people who love the arts, music, drama, design, sculpture and creative events to develop their business and communication skills and to 'make a difference' in their local communities through their creativity. With an excellent reputation within the education, disability arts and charity sector, Gig-Arts is considered a forward-looking organisation, committed to developing new accessible services and working in partnership with schools, colleges, universities and day care centres. Gig-Arts is based in Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire and since 2005 has toured throughout Great Britain in cities including London, Oxford, Leeds, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Dublin. The charity's exciting creative enterprise events have also been held internationally in the USA in the New York and Atlanta area. All Gig-Arts Events are offered for 'free' to individual disadvantaged participants. Each event is financially supported by corporate sponsorship, grant funding and in-kind contributions. Customised 'Corporate Gig-Arts Events' for business managers are available online in return for financial 'CSR' donations towards art materials and the charity's core costs. The charity has a diverse board of trustees who meet online two to three times a year. Taking a hands-on approach, they steer and support Founder-CEO Abbie Cooke and her team to present the Gig-Arts Events.

Boys Town Jerusalem believes that every child deserves a great education. This year we marked the 70th Anniversary of this remarkable school which has transformed the lives of nearly 7,500 young people since it was established. Fondation-LAB is a non-profit organisation focused on social entrepreneurship and women's empowerment in Africa and beyond. We aim to achieve these goals through awareness, consulting, training, mentorship, innovation, and research. These activities enable us to provide opportunities for women to participate and invest in the political and economic Management of their countries. Through capacity building for previously vulnerable and marginalised groups, we can effect positive social change. We specialise in identifying cultural, economic and infrastructure obstacles to women's empowerment, and working with individual women and their communities to overcome these. We believe that social entrepreneurship helps to create more prosperous, peaceful societies and that by enabling and encouraging women to become engaged in more economically productive activities, we can help them to transform the fortunes of their families and communities and contribute to their nation's GDP. In everything we do, we are guided by the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which provide a blueprint for better societies for all people, rural or urban, in Africa or elsewhere. Fondation-LAB is extremely open to collaborating with like-minded individuals and organisations that share our beliefs and vision. Indeed, we recognise that it is only through cooperation with stakeholders at every level that we can achieve tangible success and make a positive, lasting difference in the lives of women and youth. We also address related issues including gender-based violence. Only by overcoming such obstacles – and by involving relatable, peer-group mentors – can we help women to unleash their entrepreneurial potential and achieve a new degree of independence and autonomy. We are committed to enabling self-realisation and being the catalyst of personal and financial growth for women.
