Sophisti

Sophisti is a connected product design studio. In our work we connect physical objects and digital media by combining skills from industrial and interaction design, software and electronics development. We design and develop from idea to prototype to product. Sophisti works for big clients like Philips, LEGO, Heineken and NXP, but also for startups like Minibrew, Ikawa and Styleshoots. For these clients we have designed and developed app enhanced products like a coffee roaster, a beer-brewing machine and a fashion photography studio. We develop our own ideas as well which have been featured in numerous media-outlets For example Gamechanger an interactive game board bringing millennial families around the table or Ping (winner of Core77 Award) bridging distances between loved ones with a bed lamp. A recent example is Ding (also Core77 Award( a set of blocks to enhance interactivity and electronics in creative sessions. Sophisti was founded in 2007 and is based in downtown Amsterdam where we currently work with a team of 6 designers and developers. Leren doe je altijd en overal. Of je het nou wil of niet. Door verrassende interdisciplinaire cross-overs, in interactie met andere doelgroepen of door bijzonder materiaal gaan je ogen open, voel je ineens veel meer of gaat je hart sneller kloppen. En dat maakt leren spannend, betekenisvol en lekker. Het Educatie Bureau creëert leerconcepten op onverwachte plekken buiten de traditionele context. Als creatieve freelancers zijn we van alle markten thuis. We zijn conceptontwikkelaars en voeren het nog uit ook. Het liefst gaan we met de opdrachtgever een partnerschap aan. Waarin we samen onderwijs maken. Coöperatief, inventief en duurzaam. We willen namelijk het onderwijs en scholingssysteem niet opnieuw uitvinden maar constant verbeteren. De dynamische wereld vraagt om een dynamische houding. Dat doe je met elkaar.
