Disaster Aid UK & Ireland, as part of Disaster Aid International, has a number of responsibilities which include: Collective responsibility for decisions and actions undertaken by Disaster Aid International; Undertaking fund raising activities to pay for the deployments and associated costs undertaken by Disaster Aid International; Raising awareness worldwide with presentations, exhibitions and demonstrations; Developing "Ambassadors" in the wider community to give presentations for Disaster Aid UK & Ireland at various events; Recruit and train volunteers for the deployment of aid in the event of a disaster

SKIPTON BID LIMITED

Back in 2009 businesses voted for a Business Improvement District (BID) to be set up in Skipton and re-voted for the BID to continue in 2014 and again in 2019. By doing so the businesses have enabled the BID board to invest approximately £1.5 million in Skipton to date. Retail businesses within the BID area who have a business rateable value of over £6,000 become a BID Business, benefitting from its services and receiving a vote when it comes to renewing the BID in 2024 for another five years. There are opportunities to get involved for businesses under the rateable value threshold, by becoming an affiliate or voluntary business member. Our goals are: PROMOTE: Bringing together our unique heritage, retail sector and natural beauty as an attractive local lifestyle and tourism hotspot IMPROVE: Committed to creating a pleasant, cleaner and safer town centre for customers, visitors and businesses GET INVOLVED: Special projects provides the support and awareness to bring your ideas to life and keep Skipton at the forefront as one of the happiest places to live, work, study and visit.
