Norske Kvinners Sanitetsforening

Norske Kvinners Sanitetsforening er en frivillig organisasjon med omlag 41.000 medlemmer som arbeider for å skape et trygt og inkluderende samfunn. Sanitetskvinnene er til for andre. Våre medlemmer står på skuldrene til sine formødre og bærer videre den stolte arven det er å være del av en organisasjon som er til for andre. Til alle tider har Sanitetskvinnene spurt seg hvem som trenger oss mest. Det har gjort N.K.S. til en organisasjon som ser behovene i sin samtid og retter sin frivillige innsats dit behovet er størst. Organisasjonen har som formål å bidra til et trygt og inkluderende samfunn ved å aktivisere medlemmene til frivillig innsats innenfor helse- og sosialområdet. N.K.S. har som ambisjon å være landets ledende organisasjon knyttet til utvikling av kvinners livsvilkår. Vi ønsker å posisjonere oss som den foretrukne organisasjonen for de som er opptatt av nettopp kvinners livsvilkår.

Education International

Education International (EI) is a global union federation that represents organisations of teachers and other education employees. We are the world's largest, most representative organisation of teachers unions, with over 32 million trade union members representing around 400 organisations in 170 countries and territories across the globe. We promote the principle that quality, publicly-funded education should be accessible to every student in every country. We promote and represent the interests of teachers and other education employees on the international level. We assist the development of independent democratic organisations to represent teachers and other education employees, and seek to foster solidarity and cooperation between them. We support the development of qualifications of teachers, and the recognition of teachers as professionals. We support democracy, peace, social justice, and human rights, including trade union rights and the right to education. We advocate for equity in society, and to combat racism and xenophobia. We challenge discrimination on the grounds of gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, religion, and racial or ethnic origin. We work with other global union federations and other friendly organisations to promote and achieve solidarity. We promote quality education, the interests of teachers and other education employees, and equity in society.

XRCVC (Xavier's Resource Centre for the Visually Challenged)

About Started in 2003 as a part of St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, the XRCVC is a national support and advocacy centre working to create an inclusive society. Mission The XRCVC's aim is to ensure that vision loss or impairment only remains a physical condition which can be overcome rather than go on to become a disability for the visually challenged. Description The Xavier's Resource Centre for the Visually Challenged (XRCVC) is an integral part and department of St. Xavier's College - Autonomous, Mumbai The XRCVC was started in 2003 as an effort to ensure an inclusive environment at St. Xavier's College, one of the most well-known educational institutions in the country, for its students with blindness and low vision. Having created an inclusive set up for its own students, keeping with the college's long tradition of creating social impact within the larger community, the XRCVC has today become a national advocacy and support centre for the blind and low vision across the city and the country. "St. Xavier's College, Mumbai is noted for having a nurturing atmosphere for those differentially challenged. With the initiative of Dr. Sam Taraporevala, we have also decided that our visually challenged students should not be on the wrong side of the digital divide and so we offer them the best of technological advances as a resource for development. We remain committed to giving the best to our students and even exploring possibilities of opening up the facilities to other colleges."

Shop for Change Fair Trade

Shop for Change is an on-product mark of assurance that small farmers get a fairer deal for their produce and environment is cared for. Cotton is the 1st fair trade certified product where we have partnered with leading brands such as Shoppers Stop, ColorPlus and Anita Dongre. These brands and retailers directly source part of their cotton requirement from certified small farmer groups on fairer terms of trade. We work closely with them to leverage their association with fair trade through an integrated marketing campaign. In 2011, Shop for Change entered the food segment. Currently working with 6 food farmer groups across India, we are trying to create a market for fair trade food products via festive gifting market and other channels like hotel and retail. We are working with DHL, Aditya Birla group, Axis Bank Mutual Fund, Hexaware among others this festive season and are also in the process of getting some leading hotels like Four Seasons on board. Shop for Change is in parallel working towards building a consumer movement for fair trade and has been extensively covered in mainstream media (http://shopforchange.in/media.htm). Established as a not-for-profit social enterprise in January 2009, Shop for Change was formed with grant support from donors like European Union, ICCO and Hivos. In addition to these funders, now Indian funders like NABARD and Forbes Marshall are also supporting it.
