United Way of Northern BC

Since 1967, United Way of Northern BC has been mobilizing everyday people and organizations to contribute to programs that support communities in the north. People might know us for our wide range of initiatives that have reached thousands of people and their communities in Northern BC since we began, currently affecting 22 municipalities and 86 First Nations communities. We may also be known for our fundraising events, like the Lone Wolf Golf Tournament in Taylor, Tree of Lights in Prince George, or the Fire Truck Pull in Fort St John. People might also know us as a result of participation in an employee payroll donation campaign at their workplace or have seen the United Road Tour bus come through the streets of a Northern BC town. However, we come to be known, we demonstrate our commitment to Northern BC, standing with the people, at work in the communities, and extending the arm of support to those who are in need. We're listening to what people are saying. The demands of contemporary living and our desires for how we engage with our communities are evolving. To adapt to the ever-changing world and needs of the well-connected individual, we are on the edge of dramatic transformation in our organization. From inside out, we are actively changing, responding to what we've heard from both our donors and the communities we serve. We are embarking upon a new journey to connect people in Northern BC to where the need is the greatest, to empowering people and organizations with opportunities to make a difference in their local community, the ability to see the direct impact they are making, and to know they are doing something amazing for someone right where they live.

BC Children's Hospital Foundation

BC Children's Hospital Foundation works with patients, families, caregivers and hundreds of thousands of British Columbians to raise money for child health. Our vision is a world where every child is healthy and able to fulfill their dreams. We strive toward this through advocacy, collaboration and a range of fundraising events and opportunities. We have worked to support BC Children's Hospital, its research institute and Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children for more than 35 years. This means funding daily, urgent needs — including life-saving equipment, state-of-the-art facilities, research into childhood diseases and education programs. Last year, the Foundation received donations from more than 119,000 people and had revenues of over $96.2 million. Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation

The Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation inspires our community to invest in excellence in child health, research and family centred care. As the official fundraising body for the Alberta Children's Hospital, all money raised by the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation is re-invested in the hospital and child health needs in this region. Through the generosity of our donors we are able to provide funding for family centred child health programs, specialized life-saving equipment and advanced pediatric research and education at the Alberta Children's Hospital. The Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation is honoured to work with the dedicated team of caring professionals at our hospital and even prouder to be part of a community that shares in the vision of a healthier future for our children.

ABCD: Art Building Children's Dreams

We raise funds to help children in developing areas complete their education. ABCD Canada is a Canadian charity that raises funds to help children in rural Tanzania. ABCD Australia is an International Project of the Rotary Club of Templestowe, Melbourne, and raises funds to help children in Asia-Pacific. The vision of ABCD: Art Building Children’s Dreams is a world where vulnerable children can achieve their dreams. Mission Statement: ABCD: Art Building Children’s Dreams aims to inspire and empower disadvantaged children, families and communities to help themselves through education and collaborative community development.

Envirum

Our Mission Envirum allows global citizens to explore and engage with issues around the world. Our mission is to work with organizations in order to expose the roots of problems and to create long term solutions. The world is unpredictable. Our conflicts, our perspectives, and our cultures are complex. With the collaboration of organizations and the Envirum community we can bring important issues to the surface. It’s important to go beyond the scope of what it means to donate in order to make a difference in the world. When approaching an issue the most strategic course of action is to maintain our rationale and work towards logical decisions. Our online platform is an area of transparency that allows you to become fully engaged with the organization and more importantly, with the issues that you have chosen to support.
