DRMA - Dayton Region Manufacturers Association

The Dayton Region Manufacturers Association (DRMA) is the voice for our region's manufacturing industry. Since 1934, DRMA has served manufacturers throughout the Dayton Region and beyond as an active advocate, effectively advancing the interests of members and associated businesses. DRMA is a catalyst of innovation, a builder of partnerships, and a champion for education to keep manufacturing in the Dayton Region moving forward. Throughout its history, DRMA has helped preserve the vitality of the region's manufacturing base by fostering cooperation and competition, and by adapting to a continually evolving marketplace. DRMA builds on its proud tradition and embraces today's challenges as opportunities for growth that will carry manufacturers into an exciting future. We represent manufacturers in the Greater Dayton Region. Our members serve a variety of markets including aerospace, medical, agricultural, defense, construction, food and beverage, energy, communications, and many more. We offer two types of memberships – Regular and Associate – so no matter what your company does, we can help. And although most of our members are located in the Dayton Region, there are no geographical boundaries that limit membership.

The Shepherd's Center of Greater Winston-Salem

The Shepherd's Center of Greater Winston-Salem is an interfaith ministry that promotes and supports successful aging by providing direct services, volunteer opportunities, and enrichment programs for older adults. A volunteer-centered agency, Shepherd Center volunteers could: • Provide free labor for minor home repairs such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and various types of yard work in an older adult's home. OR • Provide 1-2 hours per week to visit a homebound older adult or to give the primary caregiver of a homebound older adult some time off. OR • Provide transportation for older adults to medical appointments or shopping at a local grocery store in Winston-Salem. OR • Staff a booth at local health and information fairs to pass out information about the Shepherd's Center and answer questions regarding the programs. OR • Assist with the setup and registration for our bi-annual event, Adventures in Learning, that takes place in the spring and fall. OR • Lead or assist students in our Beginners, Intermediate, and Advanced Computer Classes for Seniors. OR • Lead or assist activities in our Active Seniors program. OR • Assist with our annual Book Sale setup, cashiering, book arrangement, and clean up after the event. OR lastly, • Answer the telephones and database entry for a variety of projects as well as assist with office tasks such as copying, mailings, and organization

Shop for Change Fair Trade

Shop for Change is an on-product mark of assurance that small farmers get a fairer deal for their produce and environment is cared for. Cotton is the 1st fair trade certified product where we have partnered with leading brands such as Shoppers Stop, ColorPlus and Anita Dongre. These brands and retailers directly source part of their cotton requirement from certified small farmer groups on fairer terms of trade. We work closely with them to leverage their association with fair trade through an integrated marketing campaign. In 2011, Shop for Change entered the food segment. Currently working with 6 food farmer groups across India, we are trying to create a market for fair trade food products via festive gifting market and other channels like hotel and retail. We are working with DHL, Aditya Birla group, Axis Bank Mutual Fund, Hexaware among others this festive season and are also in the process of getting some leading hotels like Four Seasons on board. Shop for Change is in parallel working towards building a consumer movement for fair trade and has been extensively covered in mainstream media (http://shopforchange.in/media.htm). Established as a not-for-profit social enterprise in January 2009, Shop for Change was formed with grant support from donors like European Union, ICCO and Hivos. In addition to these funders, now Indian funders like NABARD and Forbes Marshall are also supporting it.

Smile Network International is a Minnesota-based non-profit, humanitarian organization that provides life altering, reconstructive surgeries and related healthcare services to impoverished children and young adults in developing countries. In the space of 45 minutes and for just $500, Smile Network can provide a child with a happier, healthier future.
