About
A detailed, highly organized education professional with past experience as an editor, content reviewer, teacher, trainer, school leader and consultant.
As an editor and content reviewer, I used my keen eye for detail to write, proofread, edit and choose appropriate content for books, articles, videos and photos. This role helped me tap into the wonderful world of writing and editing.
Instructionally, I have taught special education classes resulting in a high performing instructor label. I gained familiarity with learning models such as Bloom’s Taxonomy, ADDIE, and Essential Elements of Instruction while also fine tuning my written communication skills by writing evaluation and IEP documents to promote clarity amongst all stakeholders. Moreover, as a trainer and school leader, I led IEP and evaluation meetings, conducted needs assessments, developed and presented trainings for all school staff regarding special education, initiated creation of student study team intervention processes, and spearheaded problem solving efforts with school administrators and related service providers on high needs cases.
In my role at Vertex Education, I acted as a consultant to multiple K-8 campuses in the Phoenix Metro area. I offered technical assistance, training/staff development, and programming validation across all operational facets of Exceptional Student Services.
I returned to the classroom to support an amazing group of middle school students as a special education teacher. Returning to the classroom reignited my “why” and allowed me to rediscover the internal reward that teaching brings. I am now serving a vibrant community as the ESS Director at the most prestigious performing arts school in my state.
