About
My career started in 2012 at John Keells Group, Sri Lanka's largest conglomerate, where I contributed to the digital transformation across seven sectors, enhancing operational efficiency for over 18,000 employees. Initially, as a System Implementation Assistant in the Consumer Foods Sector, I played a key role in the Distributor Management System (DMS) project, moving operations from manual to digital. Promoted to Executive IT in 2013, I led the DMS's mobile implementation, incorporating GPS and mobile printing, and leveraged Microsoft Power BI for deeper sales insights. I further digitalized processes through a Human Capital Management System and developed event management and retail optimization tools.
Recognized for my commitment, I transitioned to John Keells IT as Assistant Manager IT in 2018, managing over 200 servers, migrating to Microsoft Azure Cloud, and leading the Identity and Security Management System. This role expanded my impact globally, including the UAE, Maldives, India, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka, and solidified partnerships with Microsoft, enhancing revenue and certifications.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I facilitated training for organizations, including the Sri Lankan Army, to adapt to digital operations, and assisted institutions in moving training online. In 2021, I joined Inovo InfoSec in California as a Security Engineer, focusing on Microsoft Technologies, before moving to Dubai in 2022 to further my career in digital transformation.
Alongside my professional career, I've pursued academic excellence with a BSc in Management Information Systems, a Postgraduate Diploma, a Master's in Information Systems Management, and I'm currently pursuing a second Master's in Digital Marketing Communications and a Doctorate in Educational Technology. I'm passionate about training and lecturing, contributing to the development of IT skills through various platforms and roles, including at the United Nations in Sri Lanka and several universities.
My commitment extends to volunteer roles, such as with the Sri Lankan IT Professionals Association in the UAE and the V4U Toastmasters Club, focusing on career development and public speaking. I've also explored diverse interests, like a Professional Diploma in Bartending and Mixology, showcasing my adaptable and innovative mindset.
