The Museum of Illusions, the world's fastest growing museum chain, is officially heading to Dubai – with the largest of all the international museum global network poised for a September opening in the city's Al Seef development located near the iconic Dubai Creek.
Since the first Museum of Illusions opened in the Croatian capital of Zagreb in 2015, six further museums have quickly followed, including the first Gulf branch in Muscat, Oman. And with seven further openings slated for 2018 alone, including sites in New York, Toronto and Berlin, the Museum of Illusions Dubai will boast the largest collection of optical illusions at any Museum of Illusions branch worldwide.
A flagship attraction in the heritage and cultural development on Dubai Creek, the full line-up of exhibits at the Museum of Illusions Dubai is a closely-guarded secret until its formal opening on September 12th. However, the newest Museum of Illusions down at Al Seef, will feature the Vortex Tunnel, a rotating cylinder which tricks the brain into thinking guests are not walking on solid ground, as well as a gravity-defying slanted room where guests shrink or grow in size depending on their place in the exhibit.
Unlike more ‘classical' museums, visitors to Museum of Illusions Dubai will be encouraged to touch the exhibits and take as many photos as they can during their visual, sensual and educational experience – it's all part of the Museum's distinctly unique ‘etiquette' for guests.
