About
Nirmala Sankaran is one of the Founders of HeyMath! – a global Ed Tech leader in Mathematics Education. Developed since 2000 in collaboration with the University of Cambridge, UK. HeyMath’s mission is to support the work of teachers and help students build a strong foundation in Mathematics. Over the last 20 years, HeyMath! has been successfully implemented with proven results in Singapore, South Africa, India, Latin America, Malaysia, UAE, the US and has individual users in over 50 countries.

Nirmala Sankaran leads innovation and talent development at HeyMath! She is committed to building excellence in Mathematics education by synthesizing best practices in teaching from high performing systems around the world, drawing insights from pedagogical research and staying on top of educational technology.
Prior to being an entrepreneur, Nirmala worked for 12 years with Citigroup in India, Middle East, Europe and the US. She has extensive experience in Product Management, Sales and Marketing.
Nirmala completed her MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore and graduated from Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi. She ranked All India 5th in the Merit List in her XII grade CBSE examinations.
Her biggest passions are travel, cricket and developing women leaders. Nirmala is a mentor at IIM Bangalore's NSRCEL for entrepreneurship and IIM Udaipur's accelerator program. She is also President of Stanford Transformation Network's India chapter - a community of 160 MSME's employing 25000 people with a combined turnover of USD 500 Mln.
