The Family Planning Association of Sri Lanka (FPA), established in 1953, is a pioneer in promoting family planning and sexual and reproductive health (SRH) in the country. As one of Sri Lanka's most expansive and renowned NGOs, we are dedicated to advancing family planning, SRH rights, and welfare for all, particularly for marginalized and underserved communities.
Our mission encompasses a wide range of services and advocacy efforts. We offer an extensive SRH product range to enhance consumer choice and work tirelessly to ensure the SRHR of all people in Sri Lanka. Our advocacy initiatives aim to increase political commitment to SRH education, engaging with political and religious leaders to foster positive change. We empower community members, especially youth, through island-wide workshops to shift norms and attitudes towards SRHR.
FPA Sri Lanka is at the forefront of efforts to eradicate unsafe abortions, while also addressing the stigma and discrimination faced by the LGBTIQ community. We are a key partner in the National HIV Prevention Project, providing comprehensive SRH services, including contraception, counselling, diagnostic services, HIV and STI screening, and voluntary counseling and testing, through our eight Service Delivery Points.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Health, FPA Sri Lanka continues to be a vital advocate and provider of SRH services, championing the right to access essential health education and services across the nation.
