About
As a BSc Cosmetic Science graduate from the University of Sunderland, I have a passion for skincare research and development. I completed my industrial placement year at Potter & Moore Innovations, a contract and private label manufacturer, where I worked as a lab technician and a junior cosmetic scientist.
There, I gained hands-on experience in formulating various cosmetic products, such as creams, gels, balms, shampoos, and masks, and in conducting analytical and sensory tests. I also developed my own biodegradable wash using sustainability msds, which received a 1st class grade for the literature review. Additionally, I was part of a NPD team project that involved problem-based learning, ingredient sourcing, costings, and claim substantiation, and achieved a 1st as well. I have a strong knowledge of the regulatory and safety aspects of cosmetic products, and I use Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel, to record and analyze data.
I am looking to ever progress to expand my skills in skincare formulation and research, and to contribute to the innovation and sustainability of the cosmetic industry. I have excellent communication, interpersonal, and dyslexic thinking skills, and I am a STEM ambassador and a member of ACCSN society and had been for the Society of Cosmetic Scientists. Moreover, as well as mentoring aspiring cosmetic science students.
