I have just completed a 3 year degree at The University of Winchester in Fashion Marketing. During my studies, I have gained the ability to work to deadlines, achieve good time management skills and confident communication. This degree has also helped to build on my knowledge of the fashion and business industry in order to prepare myself for work after I graduate. I actively read numerous fashion and business academic sources and I keep up to date with fashion news by reading Vogue Magazine, Drapers Online and Business of Fashion. This degree has also taught me how to use Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator as well as Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Before attending University, I attended Farnborough Sixth Form College where I studied CTEC Level 3 Business, CTEC Level 3 Health and Social Care and A-Level Fashion and Textiles. During my time here I gained many practical textile skills such as sewing, by hand and on the machine, fabric dyeing, using Adobe Photoshop and many other skills. Business gave me some knowledge which allowed me to realise my love for marketing which is why I decided to incorporate it into my degree. Health and Social care allowed me to learn about a wide range of subjects and gave me greater understanding of the world. During my studies, I have taken up various part time work in customer service roles at McDonalds, Matalan and Primark. These roles helped me gain valuable transferrable skills such as communication, confidence, teamwork, initiative and time management. I enjoy working in retail and in fashion as it is of interest to me and I and enjoy helping customers and giving fashion advice.
