About
I currently hold a position as a research assistant with the Centre for Genomic Research in Biomedicine (CeGRIB) where I am applying accumulated knowledge from my undergraduate study to make an impact in line with my passion.
I currently work on an independent study focused on figuring out how mutations in the Plasmodium falciparum histidine-rich protein 2/3 (PfHRP2/3) genes affect the likelihood of a false-negative result from rapid diagnostic testing (RDT) and its prevalence in Lagos, Nigeria.
From this research, I have also performed DNA extraction and PCR on the samples while preparing to carry out DNA sequencing.
I have a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, and I possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
I have come to develop an interest in infectious diseases, cancer, their molecular underpinnings, and the discovery of better therapies to tackle them.
