About
DeSieno has been developing computer applications in Operations Research and Artificial Intelligence for over 30 years. In 1979, he became interested in neural networks after reading a series of articles in BYTE magazine by James Albus. He continued researching neural network technology and began consulting related to neural network applications in 1986. As a consultant to HNC in 1987, he implemented the back propagation algorithm on the ANZA processor and pioneered the practical use of neural networks in Optical Character Recognition. A did the first demo of a reinforcement neural network balancing a mechanical broomstick. As an instructor at University of California San Diego Extension, Mr. DeSieno taught courses on applications of neural network until 1995.
DeSieno has made significant contributions to the field of neural networks. He developed the Conscience Mechanism for Competitive Learning, and holds patents on the Graded Learning Neural Network and the Fast Classification Neural Network and patents related to the use of Variable Selection Methodology in neural networks. DeSieno is also the developer of several proprietary neural net algorithms including the SPARSE network growing technique, and Fast Clustering algorithm, and DMSRT.
In his role as CTO for Data Fusion & Neural Networks and CEO of Logical Designs Consulting, Mr. DeSieno continues to develop and apply leading edge neural network technology to real world business problems.
