I offer a combination of business experience and programming expertise with the ability to liaise between executive and technology teams. I’m a strong believer in employing enterprise data to assist in setting meaningful goals and tracking progress through KPIs that motivate team members to achieve maximum growth and efficiency.
I’ve worked as a lead developer with collaborative teams in locations across North America on various tech projects. One of my significant developer achievements was developing a customized ERP for a growing company. It initially managed trades scheduling, estimating, materials requirements, and sales tracking and then expanding and enhancing to a full system that integrated communication channels, invoicing, inventory, procurement, ordering logistics, full reporting systems, after-sales service, and online applications for trades, service techs, and delivery personnel. The program needed to continually evolve to reflect the growth from a team of a dozen employees in Calgary to operations across Western Canada and the United States, which required leveraging a detailed understanding of business operations and overcoming both technical and expansion challenges. As the company grew, I also took on responsibility for overseeing enterprise-wide IT functions and managing a team of staff and consultants.
Recently, I have been focused on advancing several entrepreneurial endeavours, two in the clean tech space and one in the commercial construction industry. This has involved developing business plans, negotiating with foreign manufacturers (including import logistics) marketing and managing the development of industrial polymers, developing pitch decks, successfully obtaining government funding, working closely with engineers and scientists to develop an IP strategy relating to a hydrogen compression technology, applying for and obtaining provisional patents, marketing through social media and traditional channels, and developing partnerships with complementary service providers.
I am a self-starter willing to tackle both technical challenges and employ interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships.
The clean tech space holds particular appeal to me given Alberta’s potential on many clean energy fronts, including solar and wind farms, geothermal adoption, and hydrogen production, liquification and distribution.
