About
I am a student at the University of Waterloo studying in Civil Engineering and expecting to graduate with the class of 2029! I'm passionate about civil engineering as I believe I'll be able to positively impact the lives of many people by helping create and improve infrastructure in cities. Although I initially was drawn to structural engineering, completing my first year made me realize that other areas such as geotechnical or transportation engineering are just as interesting! I'm enthusiastic to gain whatever experience I can now so that I know what I want to focus on in 4 years when I graduate!
In my first year, I participated in multiple group projects that helped me grow my skills. I learned how to conduct a field survey with automatic levels and total stations and use the data to draft a site map on Civil 3D. I learned how to create engineering proposals and recommendation reports, as well as how to calculate associated labour and equipment costs for an engineering project.
I also involved myself with the Concrete Canoe team, where I learned a lot about the construction process by helping build the mold for the canoe. Alongside that, I've gotten involved with the Engineering Society at UWaterloo as well, joining the merchandise and events teams to help promote the novelties store, plan exciting events and manage the front desk at the EngSoc office.
