Ana Mendy (she/her) is an accomplished strategic leader with global expertise partnering with Fortune 500 and private company CEOs and boards through uncertainty and disruption. Her experience spans industries including technology, financial services, and media and entertainment. Ana has expertise in enterprise strategy, culture transformation, succession planning, compensation, talent development, and crisis management focused on building world-class teams and diverse and inclusive cultures. Ana brings a demonstrable track record of guiding top leadership on stakeholder strategies that drive transformation and growth, mitigate risk, and optimize shareholder returns. Ana was recruited to PayPal in 2021 to lead Talent and Diversity, Inclusion, Equity & Belonging from McKinsey & Company where she was a Partner in its Risk and Organization Practices. In this role, she was responsible for human capital management, designing and overseeing programs to improve recruiting, onboarding, learning and development, performance management, retention, and succession planning. Ana worked closely with PayPal's top team on the company’s new Leadership Principles that translate PayPal’s values to day-to-day behaviors, succession planning (C-suite and key roles), and the broader talent and DIE&B agenda for PayPal’s 44,000 employees across 27 countries. After a tour of duty in the people space, Ana dove back into strategy and is now leading a newly formed team at PayPal focused on Market, Policy, and Innovation Insight, working with the top team on the company's 3 year strategy. As a McKinsey partner, Ana built a strong reputation as a trusted advisor to F500 CEOs and boards on a broad range of issues, particularly strategy, cultural transformation, organizational excellence, risk management, and board effectiveness. Ana headed McKinsey’s Crisis Preparedness & Response practice in the Americas, often working with boards on topics related to corporate governance. She also co-founded the firm’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion practice, and led the LGBTQ+ affinity network in North America. During her McKinsey career, she lived in and worked across four continents and more than 20 countries including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Kingdom, Mexico, and the U.S. Ana hails from Uruguay. She holds an AB summa cum laude in History from Harvard and an MBA with High Distinction (Baker Scholar) from Harvard Business School.
