Centennial Innovates is the Applied Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship department at Centennial College. We bring students and faculty together to solve practical industry problems, providing real-world experience in the process. Our focus is on providing solutions that are both practical and cost effective. We also work to support a consistent college-wide approach to the research enterprise, through the Centennial Applied Research and Innovation Fund (ARIF) for faculty-led projects, research and training workshops held throughout the year, the activities of both the Centennial College Research Board (CCRB) and the college’s Research Ethics Board (REB). We seek to empower our students to become changemakers by exposing them to research and entrepreneurship opportunities through paid internships and experiential learning opportunities. Our Priorities: With our new research initiatives, we strengthen our commitment to addressing the changing world of work. Our research seeks to recognize the issues facing our community, and to champion issues faced by marginalized groups – pushing the limits of what a college can do. We map all of our activities to the global canvass of sustainability as defined by the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our entrepreneurship activities focus on both social entrepreneurship and traditional entrepreneurship offerings, and are also mapped against the UN SDG framework. We also support established business ventures through our business innovation and growth program. Our Applied Research activities focus on real world solutions for industry partners and our community. Our impact is directed on then embedding research project outcomes into curricula, to provide students with the most up-to-date skills needed to excel in their careers.

WELCOME TO ICT SCHOOLS! ICT Schools, a division of Kikkawa Shiatsu School Inc., owns and operates ICT Kikkawa College in Toronto, Ontario and ICT Northumberland College in Halifax, Nova Scotia. ICT Schools has been committed to providing massage therapy course instruction to students for over 45 years. Shirley D. Desborough and the late Mitsuki Kikkawa founded ICT Kikkawa College in Toronto, Ontario in 1977 (incorporated in 1980) and opened ICT Northumberland College in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1997. Over the last decade, as public appreciation of and desire for accessible complementary health has grown, ICT has recognized the need for consistent, high quality education and services.

Canvas Programs

Canvas Programs is a registered charity founded in 2014 providing empathy-based education on consent and 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion. Our arts-inspired education works to challenge sexual violence, homophobia and transphobia. We envision a society in which all people are free to live as their authentic selves and have the tools to form safe and caring relationships. Based in Toronto, Canada, Canvas provides life-changing education on consent and 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion. Canvas has built an amazing team of artists and educators that workshops for over 10,000 youth, teachers, and caregivers each year, in schools, camps and community spaces. Our programs create spaces where all people are free to live authentically and have the tools to create safe and caring relationships. Proactive, empathy-based education is key to combatting and ultimately ending homophobia, transphobia, and sexual violence. With the increase of homophobia and transphobia across Canada, more organizations and schools are reaching out to create safer spaces. With your help, we will increase our capacity and make our essential education accessible to everyone.
