California Center for the Arts, Escondido

The California Center for the Arts, Escondido is the cultural center of North San Diego County. The Center's campus includes a 1,523-seat Concert Hall, a 406-seat Center Theater, a visual arts museum, art and dance studios, and a conference center with meeting and banquet facilities. Along with its extensive performing arts season, he Center runs an extensive education program and produces free community events, such as the Jazz Jam Sessions, Holiday Tree Lighting, Day of the Dead, 4th of July and First Wednesdays performances. The Center is a non-profit organization presenting a rich and diverse array of artistic and cultural offerings. Through arts in education, quality programming, affordable rental facilities and free community programs, The Center is able to enrich the lives of the community it serves.

Cambridge University Ballet Club

The Cambridge University Ballet Club (CUBC) is student-led society dedicated to promoting the art of classical ballet both within the University of Cambridge community and to the local public in Cambridgeshire. CUBC provides regular classes in ballet technique, contemporary dance, repertoire, pas de deux, and ballet fitness for all levels from beginners to advanced taught by both student and professional teachers. We produce a large-scale annual performance each year, recently performing Swan Lake with more than a hundred dancers in March 2018. CUBC also regularly collaborates with other student societies to produce performances for their events and recitals. Our past partners have included the Cambridge Graduate Orchestra, the University of Cambridge Philharmonic Orchestra, Jesus College, the Cambridge University Dance Society and the Cambridge University Law Society, among others. The core mission of our society is to increase accessibility to ballet, an art form that has historically been exclusive to members of higher social and economic classes, while maintaining the professionalism that is integral to technical dance training and which integrally makes the beauty of ballet. We create accessibility by charging low prices for our classes, especially for students, and performing frequently in the local area, and we strive for professionalism by only hiring well-qualified teachers and studiously upholding high standards for all performances.

As Canada's local dance company, Canada's Ballet Jörgen brings the art of ballet to communities and youth across Canada with professional performances of classical Canadian ballets and educational programs. Canada’s Ballet Jörgen is proud to be one of the country’s pre-eminent builders of new ballets. Canada’s Ballet Jörgen is recognized for the innovation, warmth, humour, and beauty in its works. For over 25 years, the organization has sought to advance the art and appreciation of ballet and Canadian choreography through performance, educational experiences, and community engagement.

Occupying a full city block, Arts Commons is a six level complex measuring over 400,000 square feet (almost 10 acres). It is one of the three largest centres in Canada. The excellent downtown location offers an unrivalled variety of vibrant and attractive spaces, including four theatres, and the Jack Singer Concert Hall, home to one of Canada's largest pipe organs, the Carthy Organ. More than half a million people experience the excitement of the Arts Commons yearly at 1,800-plus performances and events, including: live theatre, dance, spoken word and readings, children’s events, experimental theatre, art exhibits, public forums, weddings, training sessions, meetings, arts education activities, sporting events and competition, award ceremonies and concerts from symphonic music to jazz, folk, blues, world, rock and much more.
