Domestic Violence Intervention Program (DVIP)

The Mission of the Domestic Violence Intervention Program is to provide comprehensive support and advocacy services to victim/survivors, focusing on immediate and long-term safety, empowerment, dignity, and hope. In collaboration with the community, we strive to end domestic abuse through education, accountability, and social justice. DVIP provides services to victim/survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, stalking and human trafficking. In today's society, intimate partner violence is widely known to be one of the greatest physical dangers to women. Women, men and children are murdered each year and the risk of child abuse is much greater in households where domestic violence occurs. Responding to intimate partner violence is critical and requires a community-wide effort. Support for victims of intimate partner violence and their loved ones is available in Johnson, Iowa, Cedar, Des Moines, Henry, Lee, Van Buren and Washington Counties through the Domestic Violence Intervention Program.

Dubuque Area Labor-Management Council

The Dubuque Area Labor-Management Council is a non-profit 501-c-3 educational organization that was founded in 1988 by leading employers and unions to: -Maintain a labor-management environment which is conducive to industrial retention and attraction -Provide a forum to improve and expand union/employer cooperation in the private and public sectors in the Dubuque area -Create a more positive image of labor-management relations in the community.

FIRST Chesapeake / VirginiaFIRST

FIRST Chesapeake Mission: The mission of FIRST Chesapeake (dba VirginiaFIRST) is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership. It is our vision to make FIRST STEM-based leadership programs a reality for every young person in the DC/ MD/ VA area. FIRST Chesapeake administers FIRST (For Inspiration of Science and Technology) programs to middle and high school students in Virginia, and to high school students in Maryland and DC. There are over 6,700 students on over 300 FIRST Chesapeake teams. These teams work together to build robots and compete in local arenas each year, with the involvement of over 650 mentors and coaches. The CGénial Foundation, officially recognized nonprofit organization, was created in 2006. We take action to promote science among young and student people and make them aware of the diversity of scientific and technical professions.
