Kaohsiung Opto-Electronics, Inc (KOE, Taiwan), a 100% Japan Displays Inc group company (JDI; merging the display businesses of Hitachi, Sony and Toshiba to form the world's largest manufacturer of small to medium sized LCD modules) was formed to advance the design, development and manufacture of market leading TFT LCD display modules previously established by Hitachi. KOE are proud to inherit an LCD heritage established over 35 years. As an early pioneer, Hitachi made simple character and dot matrix LCDs. Recently In-Plane-Switching (IPS) wide viewing angle technology has provided world beating Display Excellence.
