Connacht Whiskey Company Ltd
The Connacht Whiskey Company LTD is a working Irish Whiskey distillery in Ballina, County Mayo. The company was founded by US spirits industry veterans Tom Jensen, former President and CEO of Remy Cointreau USA, P.J. Stapelton, former Chairman of the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, and Robert Cassell, master distiller and craft spirit pioneer that created Bluecoat Gin. The Irish based member of the founding team is David Stapleton, who is an Ireland based executive with an extensive engineering background.
The 27,000 square feet distillery, which includes a visitor center and tasting room, is in western Ireland and located in a picturesque setting on the banks of the River Moy, a renowned salmon river. It is one of only a handful of working distilleries in Ireland, and the only one in County Mayo that feature a full visitor's experience. Using three pot stills custom designed by Robert Cassell and manufactured by Specific Mechanical Systems in Canada, the distillery currently produces and bottles on site single malt pot still Irish whiskey, Conncullin Irish Gin, Straw Boy's Irish Vodka and Poitin as well as innovative sourced whiskies such as Ballyhoo Irish Whiskey, Spade & Bushel Irish Malt Whiskey and Brothership Blended Whiskey.
