Darfur Women Network - DWN

The Darfur Women Network (DWN) was founded in November, 2007 by Darfuri native Mastora Bakhiet, who now serves as President and CEO of DWN's Board of Directors. The DWN is led by people from Darfur for the first time in the history of the organization. DWN believes that the expertise and support of Darfuris and their sincere friends are foundation for the DWN to grow and effectively achieve its mission. Our mission is to raise public awareness, provide educational outlets, use specialized programming, assist and encourage refugee women, girls and families displaced by the Darfur conflict so they may re-establish personal empowerment and flourishing communities in the face of adversity. Darfur Womens Network, Inc. works with both refugees in Chad and those who have immigrated to the United States.

Tri-City Volunteers

Tri-City Volunteers is a non-profit organization that provides food assistance and low cost clothing and household items to the residents of Alameda County. We are the largest client-direct food bank in the area. We serve up to 16,000 individuals every month through our food cart and bag lunch programs. With a staff of 6, a volunteer force of almost 1,900, and a budget that barely breaks $600,000, we are extremely efficient in distributing over 6 million pounds of food annually. We serve all low-income residents of Alameda County. Many of our clients come from migrant families, are under-employed, or are facing unemployment due to disability, a lack of relevant work skills, or other barriers.

Global Foundation for First Responders

Each year brave men and women providing safety and protection will lose their lives in the line of duty. In 2017, line of duty deaths are up 23 percent over the previous year* leaving more families to care for across the U.S. There are over 70,000 state, local, tribal and federal agencies that support public safety and emergency response, made up of over 10 million first responders. First responders are vital to the security of our nation. During emergencies of any kind, these men and women stand ready to serve without hesitation. The mission of The Global Foundation for First Responders is to provide much needed services during their time of need. GFFFR works with local authorities and the families to ensure assistance is provided. Your donations and support help us achieve this mission.

Houston International Seafarers Center

The Houston International Seafarers Center (HISC) was established over 55 years ago to provide a safe haven for seafarers while seeing to their humanitarian needs centered on recreational activities, spiritual and pastoral services, as well as social services such as transportation, shopping, medical and conflict resolution.

IOMSN

Founded on May 30, 1997, International Organization of Multiple Sclerosis Nurses (IOMSN) is the first and only international organization focusing solely on the needs and goals of professional nurses, anywhere in the world, who care for people with multiple sclerosis. Mentoring, educating, networking, sharing - the IOMSN supports nurses in their continuing effort to offer hope The mission of the IOMSN is the establishment and perpetuation of a specialized branch of nursing in multiple sclerosis; to establish standards of nursing care in multiple sclerosis; to support multiple sclerosis nursing research; and to educate the health care community about multiple sclerosis; and to disseminate this knowledge throughout the world. The ultimate goal of the IOMSN is to improve the lives of all those persons affected by multiple sclerosis through the provision of appropriate healthcare services and to make hope happen!
