AXIS,VNIT Nagpur

AXIS is the annual technical festival of the Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur. AXIS has grown to become one of the largest technical festivals in India and the largest in Central India. AXIS organises over 40 events, exhibitions and workshops, encompassing multiple engineering disciplines, with an aim to provide a national platform to attract and nurture talent in the fields of science and technology. AXIS also undertakes various social initiatives which strive to bring about a change in the lives of those less fortunate than themselves. Started in 2001 as Odyssey, AXIS has come a long way from its modest beginnings and annually attracts over 35,000 school and college students from different parts of the country. Structure and Organisation: AXIS is an entirely student organised event. At its helm are the 12 core committee members, who overlook all the aspects of the techfest and manage the finances, publicity and logistics, among others. Each event has its own (third year) event managers and (second year) organisers, who interact directly with the core team. AXIS also has the assistance of professors-in-charge, who are the professors in VNIT. The strong and well-established VNIT Alumni also assist the coordinators in varied aspects of different events. Events: With a plethora of events encompassing a wide variety of fields like Automation and Robotics, Construction and Design, Software and Electronics, Management, School Events and many more, AXIS attracts some of the brightest and most creative young minds from all over India. Inaugural Evenings and Exhibitions: Featuring some big names like NDRF and DRDO, AXIS Exhibitions are an excellent source of erudition and have been inaugurated by distinguished personalities like the late former President of India,Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and Dr. Dinesh Keskar, Senior Vice President, Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

Mission for Vision

Mission For Vision (MFV) is a leading not-for-profit organisation working since 2000 towards the eradication of avoidable blindness. MFV has acted as a catalyst by strengthening several institutions towards excellence through equitable services and enabled over 2.2 million eye surgeries until date. Today, MFV partners with 24 reputed eye hospitals and organisations in reaching out to economically challenged communities in 110 districts of 16 Indian states. MFV also runs its own eye care initiatives in the communities. VISION: To restore the gift of vision to every visually impaired human being, irrespective of nationality, religion or socio-economic status. Shrimad Rajchandra Aatma Tatva Research Centre, established in 2004 at Parli (Maharashtra), India is a registered Charitable Trust. Established by a compassionate spiritual luminary – Shree Pravinchandra Mehta (fondly known as Param Pujya Pappaji), the Research Centre is a Not-for-Profit, non-religious, non-political NGO, which operates in two domains - spiritual and socio-economic aspiring to humbly disseminate peace in the world through the philosophy of Vitraag Vigyaan – the science of self-realisation. The Research Centre represents the coming together of individuals from diverse backgrounds and faiths who, through a common ground, aspire for inner evolution for the Self and for the world around them. Focusing on the holistic development of the region spanning 90+ villages, the Research Centre has undertaken numerous socio-economic initiatives in the fields of Education, Healthcare, Women Empowerment, Hunger Eradication and Environmental Sustainability, rekindling self-belief, self-worth, and self-progress in lakhs of underprivileged beneficiaries over the last 2 decades.
