A social enterprise and ethical mutual, we are owned and run by property professionals, and operated in partnership with a commercial service provider, PropertyPortal.com. Backed by sound social impact investment, the two businesses are separate and independent but have mutual synergy benefiting both.
We believe that the real estate profession needs to take back control of its most valuable asset - its own data. Corporate portals are charging agents to give them their data and making super profits for corporate shareholders. "Free" portals are monetising this data for the benefit of investors with no accountability.
PropertyMutual is for all property professionals marketing property on behalf of clients. We have no lock-in contracts or onerous conditions. PropertyMutual has no founders or shareholders, being wholly owned by its partners. It is Accountable, Ethical and 100% Independent. Any profits the mutual makes are for the benefit of our partners and our social partners.
PropertyMutual is a collaborative venture with five key differences: it is modelled on the needs of both the consumer as well as their professionals advisers; it places no restrictions on how our members run their businesses; all key strategic decisions and diversifications are communicated to the membership in advance via a member representative Board; all funding members are equal, pay the same per office and are fully represented (one firm = one member = one vote); it is realistic in its objectives and the time frame necessary to achieve them.
