If it was available, it was often cost prohibitive. The company was formed on the basis of neighbour helping neighbour, a concept similar to other Farm Mutuals established at that time. That concept still exists within our culture today. More than a century later Usborne & Hibbert Mutual Fire Insurance Company has not lost its connection with the rural community.
