Ride On Portland

RideOn Portland is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring that both you and your car get home safely after enjoying Portland's nightlife. Pretty cool, huh? RideOn Portland has developed a progressive approach towards the prevention of drunk driving by driving individuals home in their own car. Bicyclists, pedestrians, motorist, we are all in this together – RideOn's aim is to keep us all safe. RideOn is a volunteer-based organization composed of individuals probably a lot like you. We love Portland! We love Portland's nightlife! And we love to partake in all that this vibrant city has to offer. That's why we created RideOn, so we can all enjoy Portland's nightlife safely. RideOn drivers are dispatched to the aid of intoxicated and/or impaired imbibers on Friday and Saturday nights between the hours of 11pm and 3am in an effort to reduce the number of impaired drivers on the street. Thanks to the help of our awesome sponsors, RideOn is able to provide you with this service for just $10 per ride. The cost of our service is intentionally affordable so that making a good decision will be an easy decision at the end of a night out. Not too shabby, eh?

Habitat for Humanity of Miami & Shelby Co. Ohio

We Put Faith Into Action Our mission is seeking to put God's love into action; Habitat brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. Habitat for Humanity of Miami and Shelby Counties, OH is a faith-based organization that envisions Miami and Shelby Counties as a place where every resident has access to quality and affordable homeownership opportunities. We seek to build self-sufficiency for residents in need through the life-changing opportunity of homeownership. We want to see vibrant neighborhoods where engaged homeowners participate in building safe and healthy communities. Habitat for Humanity of Miami and Shelby Counties, OH defines "need" as someone earning 30-50% of the average median income (AMI) for the Miami and Shelby County area. That equates to roughly a $18,050 annual income for a family of four at 30% AMI. Habitat for Humanity of Miami and Shelby Counties, OH relies on Individuals, Churches, Corporations, and Foundations to provide the financial and in-kind resources necessary to construct or rehabilitate the homes. Annually, HFHMSCO also relies on hundreds of volunteers that provide the labor to construct and rehab the homes. All this allows HFHMSCO to provide monthly mortgage rates around $300 – $500.

Founded in 1998 as a project of the Independent Sector, the Center for Lobbying in the Public Interest (CLPI) is now a national, nonprofit organization that helps charitable organizations increase their effectiveness and impact through advocacy. Civic participation is the essence of democracy, and nonprofit organizations are one of the most effective vehicles for engaging people in the democratic process. CLPI trains nonprofits and promotes increased advocacy within the nonprofit and philanthropy sector in order to create systemic change on the critical issues of our day. Mission: The Center for Lobbying in the Public Interest (CLPI) promotes, supports and protects 501(c)(3) nonprofit advocacy and lobbying in order to strengthen participation in our democratic society and advance the missions of charitable organizations. Goals: CLPI's goals are to: * Promote increased nonprofit advocacy by acting as a catalyst for change within the nonprofit and philanthropy sector. * Support increased civic participation by nonprofits and their constituents through education, training and technical assistance. * Protect and expand nonprofit advocacy rights to facilitate civic engagement by nonprofits and their constituents.
