CUBRC

Since CUBRC’s emergence in 1983, the company has grown from a small facilitator of research into a fully staffed, highly respected, scientifically crucial entity. While it is our mission to make a positive technological and economic impact on Western New York, the influences of our work stretch far beyond the WNY region by making significant technology contributions to our nation as a whole. The technologies and facilities of CUBRC date back to the late 1950s, playing a major role in the development and testing of NASA’s Gemini and Apollo space capsules, the U.S. Space Shuttle as well as many other vehicles that travel through Earth’s atmosphere at speeds much greater than that of sound. More recently, CUBRC has continued its pioneering work in the area of aeronautics by expanding and enhancing our Hypervelocity research facilities into a unique research and test capability, available nowhere else in the world. In 1988, CUBRC expanded our technology to reach beyond aeronautics. CUBRC has made tremendous contributions in defending our country against the effects of biological and chemical agents, improving clinical diagnostic instruments that test for diseases, helping to save lives on streets and highways, and helping people make critical decisions through the development of advanced information systems designed to provide crucial information extracted from massive, disparate sources of data. CUBRC offers exciting challenges where ideas and skills are valued and individual contributions are respected, recognized, and rewarded. Continually adapting and expanding, CUBRC remains invested in the power of technology, of first-rate facilities, and of innovative, highly motivated minds to impact and benefit all humankind.

VRAIN - Valencian Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence

The Valencian Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence (VRAIN), from the Universitat Politècnica de València is composed by 110 researchers belonging to 8 research groups: Enginyeria del Llenguatge i Reconeiximent de Formes (ELiRF), Automata, Formal Languages and its Applications (ALFA), Extensions of Logic Programming (ELP), Machine Learning and Language Processing (MLLP), Computer Technology and Artificial Intelligence (GTIIA) and Multiparadigm Software Technology (MIST), the Research Center on Software Production Methods (PROS), and the Laboratory of interactive technologies (VertexLit) of the Universitat Politècnica de València. With more than 30 years of experience in different lines of research in Artificial Intelligence (AI), the groups that make up VRAIN are national and international references in AI research and their results are supported by their extensive scientific production. In fact, with 130 researchers, VRAIN is one of the largest AI research centers in Spain. VRAIN's research activity revolves around twelve main research areas: Natural Language Processing, Planning and Reasoning, Software Verification and Analysis, Machine Learning and Deep Learning, Natural Computation, Computational Logic and Automatic Reasoning, Intelligent Agents and Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence, Artificial Intelligence, Privacy and Security, Information Systems Engineering, Software Testing Engineering, Autonomic Computing, Self-Adaptation and Human Interaction, and Genomic Data Science and Genomic Information Systems. These research areas are applied to the development of innovative applications in a large number of strategic sectors such as health, agriculture, industry, privacy/security, autonomous robots, services and energy, and environmental sustainability. VRAIN has produced and continues to produce important scientific publications (more than 2,000 papers), many of which have been and are highly cited.

Robotics and Machine Intelligence

Established in 2005, the Robotics and Machine Intelligence Club is one of the prestigious clubs of National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli. The club hosts research and technical projects covering various fields ranging from assistive and mobile robotics, human-robot interaction, rapid prototyping, computer vision, artificial intelligence, among many. We aim to research on new ideas in the field of Robotics and Machine Learning. We propose to do so by undertaking research projects that demand innovation, formulation of algorithms and materialize our ideas. We host workshops like Genesis and Rapid Prototyping, events and competitions like Following and InHotts to engage students of the college in robotics. Further, our wide array of projects is displayed every year in the ISO certified tech fest Pragyan. RMI has a distinguished set of alumni around the globe from various related fields.
