HotHouse

HotHouse, The Center for International Performance and Exhibition, was founded in 1987 in Chicago to provide a unique forum for expression in the arts. Created primarily to host musical performances and other mediums such as spoken word, public discussions, film, dance and visual arts exhibitions, the ground-breaking non-profit organization showcases the work of innovative artists from all over the world, including those working outside the margins of the commercial market. HotHouse uses its collective resources to enfranchise community-based arts and culture, creating innovative festivals, events and multi-arts programs that respond to social issues in a broad way, instigating opportunities for international exchange and cross-cultural awareness. Over the years, luminary artists who've performed at HotHouse include Esperanza Spaulding, Gil Scott Heron, Hugh Masekela, Common, Baaba Maal, Los Van Van, Jorge Ben Jor, Mariza, Pink Martini and Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg. HotHouse presents a range of affordable, accessible multi-arts programs at venues around the region, while pursuing plans to build its third home. The vision for the new HotHouse is to be "a sanctuary for progressive culture" — continuing its mission of creating iconic spaces for cultural expression and international exchange. In its first two decades, HotHouse attracted more than 70,000 people to its programs annually. In 2014, HotHouse has presented 35 multi-arts events. Of HotHouse, The New York Times wrote, "Few clubs anywhere offer a wider range of first-rate world music, from wildly vibrant Afro-pop to avant-garde jazz than HotHouse." A "Best of Chicago" award said that "From European avant-garde jazz acts that don't even play in this hemisphere to performance art to world music to the city's more esoteric acts, [HotHouse] has consistently pulled in some of the planet's most innovative acts." HotHouse receives support from many foundations, individual and business contributors.

Bergen Performing Arts Center

bergenPAC's facilities include a 1,367-seat theater with the Intermezzo Art Gallery on the balcony level. A 70-seat cabaret theater, 80-seat Black Box Theater, and an 8 studio Performing Arts School. bergenPAC is an engine of economic vitality, serving nearly 1,000,000 individuals living in Bergen County as well as residents from Passaic, Hudson, Essex, Union, and Rockland (NY) counties. We feature around 200 annual performances and events in a variety of genres including Rock and Pop, Jazz, Ballet, Traditional Arts, Adult Contemporary, Comedy, and Family Fun! Our school provides arts education in music, dance, theater, insturments, voice, production, and more! bergenPAC has established many important and exciting initiatives to fulfill our mission of exposing our entire community to the arts: *LimitlessArts: A special needs education program in all disciplines for all ages and abilities *Education Scholarships: No-one is turned away for inability to pay *Arts Access: 200 FREE tickets to EVERY bergenPAC show to qualified organizations *beyondbergenPAC: We provide arts education to school districts that have lost their arts funding *Korean, Hispanic, Indian, and Cultural Initiatives: Incorporating shows, music, dance, activities and events for our entire community at-large *ADA accessibility: We provide mobility access, hearing assist systems, sign interpretation, large format and Braille programs, and audio description for select performances

ComMUSICation

ComMUSICation's mission is to amplify young voices and cultivates skills for success through equitable access to music, collaboration, and opportunity. Vision Youth use their voices to lead and make change, inspiring and inspired by their community. Core Values Collaboration: ComMUSICation utilizes community partners to bolster resources and maximize collective impact. We make decisions collaboratively partnering with youth, families, and community. Intention: ComMUSICation is dedicated to musical excellence and selecting purposeful music and performances that empower our youth to be actively engaged in their community and use their voices in a beautiful, healthy way. Evolving: ComMUSICation believes we are a never-ending evolving entity that can always better ourselves and will never stop striving for excellence. We measure our impact and evaluate programming and staff regularly. Youth-centered: ComMUSICation nurtures a youth's development as a respectful, engaged young person first and foremost. Youth first, music second. Community-based: we are rooted in our community, both by location and by representation having parents, community partners, and community members on our board.

Athena Project

Athena Project is a professional group of artists dedicated to supporting and expanding women's artistic contributions to the Denver stage and the wider community. Athena envisions a world where women’s voices are powerfully expressed and recognized for artistic merit in the community. Athena Project's mission is to empower women and strengthen the Denver community through developing and showcasing women and girls' artistic contributions, while inviting new audiences into the creative process. Each Spring, Athena Project produces an Arts Festival that includes theatre, dance and music highlighting the contributions of women artists. In the Fall, we produce a Premiere Production which is selected from one of the plays workshopped during the Festival. Girls Create, is our summer intensive where we highlight various art forms in a week long camp culminating in a final performance to be shared with friends, family, and the public. This program empowers girls to lead and effect change in themselves and others through creative learning. Rounding out our annual events are Pop Up music, dance, fashion and theatre performances around the city as well as Visual Art Shows.

Edmonds Driftwood Players - Come Play With Us!

Mission: We foster excellence in live theater for the enrichment of our Community and the benefit of Future Generations. We believe the arts are vital to a creative, vibrant community. That's why we have been bringing quality community theater to North King County and Snohomish County for over 57 years. Each Season we present 12-13 productions. Those include 5 Main Stage shows such as well-known musicals, murder mysteries, dramas, and comedies, as well as, 4 TIPs (Theatre of Intriguing Possibilities) productions of never-before produced or lesser known works. Additionally, each summer we create educational shows for children and teens. To do all this we engage approximately 350 community volunteers and entertain 12,000 patrons of all ages. We are proud to be a Community Theater - by the community, for the community.
