F1 in Schools

F1 in Schools is a not-for-profit social enterprise aiming to change the perception of STEM-related subjects through global competition. Students aged 9-19 take part in a multi-disciplinary challenge in which they must use professional CAD software to design, analyse, manufacture, test, and race miniature compressed air-powered car from a model block. Many students have gone on to have fruitful careers with F1 teams, founded on their success in F1 in Schools.

connecticut alternate route to certification

The Connecticut Alternate Route to Certification (ARC) Program is an accelerated hybrid program for highly-motivated adults who wish to enter the teaching profession. An innovative and challenging program, ARC was created as part of the Education Enhancement Act of 1986. It has been offered since 1988 and is administered by the Connecticut Office of Higher Education and is approved by the Connecticut State Board of Education. ARC has prepared over 5,000 teachers since the program’s inception. Most current ARC offerings seek to prepare graduates for jobs in critical teacher shortage areas as determined each year by the Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE).

National Center for Sports Safety

The National Center for Sports Safety (NCSS) was founded to promote the importance of injury prevention and safety on all levels of youth sports through education and research. The NCSS focuses on decreasing the number and/or severity of injuries through developing and teaching sports safety courses and collecting, analyzing and researching injury data.
