The City of Oaks Foundation's vision is an environmentally vibrant Raleigh whose citizens take pleasure in the City's natural resources and appreciate nature's role in improving our lives. Our mission is to conserve natural areas for Raleigh's citizens and visitors using non-confrontational, collaborative approaches to acquire land; and to sponsor efforts that move people to explore Raleigh's natural and cultural resources. The Foundation is a charitable organization established in December 2010 to benefit the people of Raleigh in two areas that, until now, were inadequately served. The Foundation maintains two programs to achieve its mission. "Give Play" Initiative: • Carry out an annual campaign for need-based program scholarship funds. • Working closely with Raleigh Parks Recreation and Cultural Resources Department staff, identify programming needs suitable for private fundraising. "Raleigh, Naturally" Land Trust: • Acquire from willing landowners natural land important to the City. • Partner with the City on long-term management of conserved lands.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware

Since 1931, Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware has positively impacted the lives of thousands of children and teens across Delaware. We are the largest licensed provider of childcare in Delaware and the only statewide Boys & Girls Club in the nation. Every day girls and boys are left to find their own recreation and companionship. An increasing amount of kids are at home with no adult care or supervision. Young people need to know they have a place in their community where they can go. Clubs provide a safe haven for youth, allow them to meet with friends and be a part of positive peer groups. Club programs teach life skills, conflict resolution and focus on the development of character. Clubs also provide members with positive role models and a nurturing environment that help improve decision-making skills.
