Thermal Resource Group
Thermal Resource Group, LLC (TRG), an Arizona-based development, engineering and manufacturing firm, is engaged in the manufacture and deployment of patented thermal-powered electrical generation, co-generation, and fluid pumping systems.
Our turnkey systems are designed to capture site-specific heat resources to produce electrical power, hydraulic pumping, seawater desalination, gas compression and artificial lift systems. Heat-source agnostic, TRG is currently focused on developing waste heat recovery systems for the marine industry, thermal powered rural electricity generation, and thermal engine powered seawater desalination.
Needing only low-grade heat (defined as @160⁰ - 180⁰F), available from geothermal, waste heat, solar ponds, solar thermal, biogas, biomass, and clean co-generation as well as conventional, non-renewable sources, the patented Two-Stage Hydraulic Engine derives from a long history of thermal expansion engines (think two-stroke, not four).
The TRG TRE™ Two-Stage Hydraulic Engine differs from others in the method used to capture the heat and convert it to mechanical power. The TRG TRE™ Two-Stage Hydraulic Engine also does not require phase change in its working medium (fluid to steam) and consequently eliminates the need for costly and inefficient steam turbines. TRG TRE™ system efficiencies are in the range of 37-43%.
The low maintenance, closed-loop engines produce significant torque which in turn drives electrical generators, hydraulic lift and hydraulic pumping systems. TRG's Electrical generation is marketed under the trademark Thermalicity™.
