AMA ALUCOR Projects W.L.L

AMA ALUCOUR Projects W.L.L is a Joint Venture between Ahmed Mansoor Al A'Ali Company BSC(c) and Alucor Limited. The JV company in Bahrain was formed to tender, secure and execute projects for the supply and installation of structural, mechanical and process equipment complete with electrical and instrumentation for the ALBA Line 6 Aluminium Smelter. The joint venture has successfully secured three projects to date on Alba Line 6. The fabrication of the cathode ring assembly bus bar, the Pot-line facilities mechanical installation and the Cathode sealing mechanical and electrical installation packages. The joint venture company has capitalized on the strong presence of AMA in Bahrain with over 32,000 square meters of covered manufacturing facilities and 150,000 square meters of open storage area directly across the smelter site. In addition, the JV company has leveraged the strong reputation that ALUCOR has developed in the industry as the leading provider for supply and installation services of smelter equipment to the global aluminium market. With a combined industry experience of over 80 years in equipment manufacturing and installation for smelters, the joint venture company is in a unique position to provide its services to Aluminium Bahrain (ALBA), Bechtel Corporation and all major technology and equipment suppliers to the Project. Along with Line 6 expansion, AMA ALUCOR were one of the main contractors involved in the recovery of ALBA Line 4 and 5, the worlds fastest recovery from a major reduction outage. During Alba line 5 recovery programme AMA ALUCOR were awarded and successfully completed the pot shell and superstructure overhaul, as well as being a part of the cell re-lining workforce. Boyne Smelters Limited

Boyne Smelters Limited (BSL) has been operating since 1982 and is proud to be Australia’s second largest aluminium smelter. The smelter is situated on a 60 hectare site at Boyne Island in Central Queensland and produces more than half a million tonnes of aluminium each year. The smelter directly employs approximatley 900 people, while also provides employment for over 120 various contract employees. Production activities at the smelter include three main production areas which include the manufacturing of carbon anodes in the carbon plant, aluminium production (smelting) in reduction lines, and casting of molten metal into aluminium products. In June 2012, the company completed a $720 million upgrade consisting of a number of projects to increase efficiency, improve environmental performance and extend the lifespan of the smelter. This included re-building one of three existing carbon bake furnaces and decommissioning its two other carbon bake furnaces with a new furnace. The new furnace, costing over $330 million alone, is more energy efficient and has greatly reduced onsite greenhouse gas emissions. The upgrade project also included additional improvements in the reduction lines part of the plant, with the replacement of overhead cranes, a crane runway upgrade and improved alumina transport system to the reduction cells. The majority of aluminium produced at the smelter is cast into ingot and billet, which is consumed in Australia and exported to countries all over the world to make aluminium casting and extruded products such as window frames, yacht masts and door frames.
