Data Steel Pipe Industries (Pvt.) Ltd. was established in 1993 by Speedways Group of companies. The plant, which is strategically located in Sadiqabad, Dist. Rahim Yar Khan, is equipped with the most technologically advanced spiral welded steel pipe manufacturing machinery and utilizes continuous helical seam submerged arc-welding process. The plant is spread over 74,000 square meters and includes all ancillary equipment in addition to ultrasonic, real-time x-ray, end x-ray and hydrostatic testing quality control systems complete with automatic hydraulic material handling systems. The annual production capacity of the mill is approximately 150,000 tons, manufacturing pipes of diameter between 8" and 140" (200-3500mm). DATA Steel was one of the first companies in the steel sector to acquire ISO 9001 certification. Moreover, it is the only manufacturer in Pakistan to have the coveted APIQR certification. This proves, among other things, that DATA Steel has the capability to deliver its products to the customer, with the right quality at the right time, and with zero defects. It is also the sole company in Pakistan to have manufactured steel pipe of diameters exceeding 100 inches. DATA Steel also has a coating plant which is capable of applying multi-layers of coating comprising of fusion bonded epoxy, co-polymer adhesive and high/medium density polyethylene / polypropylene as well as applying a single layer of fusion bonded epoxy on the external surface of steel pipes. The coating plant has a capacity of coating pipes at the rate of 250 square meters per hour (or 600,000 square meters per annum, based on single shift operation). As such it is the largest and the most technologically advanced coating plant of its kind in this country. DATA Steel has the honor to be the only pipe mill in the country to export spiral welded pipes, and was awarded FPCCI Merit Trophy in 2004 for its remarkable efforts.
