Code First Girls

Code First Girls is on a mission to close the gender gap in the tech industry by providing employment through free education. We’ve already taught more than 150,000+ women to learn to code and by working with companies globally, we’re boosting employability, diversity and social mobility, transforming local economies and communities. But we want to go further – our aim is to provide one million opportunities for women to learn to code and participate in the industry in the next five years, becoming the world’s first EdTech unicorn dedicated to women.

John Wood Community College

John Wood Community College was founded in 1974 to provide residents with high-quality, low-cost higher education. The College serves a district that expands into nine counties in west central Illinois. John Wood invests in the people of our community by offering education, skills and knowledge to create a better workforce for today and tomorrow. Day, evening, online and open learning classes allow students to attend college on their terms. John Wood offers a comprehensive baccalaureate transfer curriculum, with three degrees specifically designed to accomodate students transferring to four-year colleges: Associate in Arts (AA), Associate in Fine Arts (AFA), and Associate in Science (AS). The College also offers the Associate in Applied Science degree (AAS) and certificates for those interested in specialized career/technical training that leads to immediate employment.

With our platform, schools can easily find and book a variety of onsite programs and camps to supplement learning and enrich student’s extracurricular experiences. The Refrigeration School, Inc. (RSI) has trained individuals to become professional, entry-level Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) technicians since 1965. RSI has since expanded its training and now offers multiple career-focused training opportunities. RSI’s instructors are experienced industry professionals. RSI’s training programs are designed based on industry feedback to meet employers’ needs. RSI promotes a student-centric learning environment to support the learner who desires to put forth a great deal of effort to achieve his or her desired professional goals. *According to 2015 IPEDS data TWS has the largest total combined enrollment of students for all post-secondary schools in the U.S. with the designated largest program of CIP Code Welding Technology/Welder.
