The District of Thunder Bay Social Services Administration Board

The District of Thunder Bay Social Services Administration Board (TBDSSAB) supports people to improve their lives and become self-sufficient. We do this as the service system manager for vital, quality social services needed by individuals and families living in the District of Thunder Bay—including child care and early years, community housing, homelessness prevention programs—and through the delivery of Ontario Works. TBDSSAB was established on April 1, 1999 through the enactment of the District Social Services Administration Board (DSSAB) Act. It is one of 47 Service Managers in Ontario that are mandated by the Province of Ontario to administer these services. The District includes 15 municipalities which are represented on our Board of Directors by 11 representatives appointed by municipal Councils. As well, the Board of Directors includes an elected representative from the Territories Without Municipal Organization. --- Mission Statement: The District of Thunder Bay Social Services Administration Board delivers provincially mandated services on behalf of the citizens of the District of Thunder Bay in an equitable and cost-effective manner. The Forks North Portage

The Forks North Portage Partnership, a key stakeholder in the development of downtown Winnipeg, is responsible for the ownership, management and continuing renewal of The Forks and North Portage sites. The Forks is Winnipeg's all-season 'meeting place,' located at the junction of the Red and Assiniboine Rivers! It is a waterfront heritage site of 54 acres consisting of park and green space, public market, children's museum, theatre for young people, boutique hotel, recreation port, skate board plaza, and much more. North Portage is located on Portage Ave. and consists of land holdings with a number of commercial leases to private sector operators. Additionally the Forks North Portage Partnership owns and operates the parking lots at on the North Portage site.

Representing more than 25,000 members across the province, OACETT is the professional association that promotes the interests of engineering and applied science technicians and technologists to industry, educational institutions, the government and the public. OACETT is Ontario’s independent certifying body for engineering and applied science technicians and technologists. Members hold one of the following designations: C.E.T. (Certified Engineering Technologist), C.Tech. (Certified Technician) or A.Sc.T. (Applied Science Technologist).
