Akademiet for Talentfulde Unge | Syd

Et tilbud til fagligt motiverede og akademisk talentfulde gymnasieelever I en almindelig gymnasieklasse sidder gennemsnitligt to elever, der har evne og lyst til at arbejde ekstra med deres akademiske interesser. Akademiet for Talentfulde Unge samler disse fagligt engagerede elever og tilbyder dem muligheden for at blive dygtigere i et intenst miljø. Deltagerne er tilknyttet programmet i to år fra midten af 1.g. frem til midten af 3.g. Forløbet er møntet på at inspirere og udfordre deltagerne fagligt samt at forberede dem på en akademisk karriere. Undervejs oplever deltagerne en række forelæsninger og deltager aktivt i faglige workshops inden for både samfunds-, human- og naturvidenskabelige fagområder. Akademiet har et løbende samarbejde med både videregående uddannelser og erhvervslivet, som har til formål hvert år at sammensætte et unikt talentprogram, der giver deltagerne mulighed for at møde nogle af landets fremmeste forskere og mest innovative virksomheder. I og med at programmet tilbyder en så bred vifte af aktiviteter, får deltagerne mulighed for at opdyrke nye faglige interesser, men også for at dykke dybere ned i relevante problematikker inden for deres eget særlige interesseområde. Akademiet for Talentfulde Unge gør en dyd ud af at etablere sig som et tilbud om socialt samvær og sparring med ligesindede vidensentusiaster. Hvert år tilbydes deltagerne at deltage i en uges intensiv akademisk camp i sommerferien, hvor faglige udfordringer udbydes under hyggelige forhold.

E. Landers Consulting, Inc.

Dr. Eric Landers earned his Ph.D. from the University of Florida with an emphasis on children with Emotional and Behavioral Disorders (EBD). He has worked as a classroom teacher for students with EBD, a professor at West Virginia University and Georgia Southern University, and as an independent consultant for supporting school-wide behavioral systems. Dr. Landers has given hundreds of presentations and authored more than a dozen publications regarding bullying, responding to challenging behaviors, teacher job satisfaction, and school-wide PBIS. He is the Co-Director of the National Youth-At-Risk Center at Georgia Southern University and the founder/director of the Southeast Conference on Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports. Dr. Landers is also the creator of My-Behavior-Resource.com, a free online behavior resource for schools and MyBaseSystem.com, a comprehensive RtI data management system.
