The UN Global Compact is the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative providing a practical framework for action and a platform for demonstrating commitment and leadership. The initiative calls on businesses to align their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption, and to take action to advance societal goals including sustainable development. As a special initiative of the UN Secretary-General, the United Nations (UN) Global Compact is a call to companies everywhere to align their operations and strategies with ten universal principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. The mandate of the UN Global Compact is to guide and support the global business community in advancing UN goals and values through responsible corporate practices. Locally, the UN Global Compact Network Australia (UNGCNA) brings together signatories to the UN Global Compact, including more than 35 ASX 100 companies and other major corporates, non-profits and universities, to advance the private sector's contribution to sustainable development through the universal framework provided by the UN-mandated Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Ten Principles. We lead, enable and connect business and stakeholders to create a sustainable future by supporting businesses to act responsibly and helping them find opportunities to drive positive business outcomes.

At Hiway 80 Rescue Mission, we preach and teach the word of God while winning souls to Jesus Christ. We accomplish this by providing - food, shelter, clothing and the opportunity to hear and receive the Gospel. We are commissioned by our Lord to help the poor and needy not only when it is convenient, but when the needs arise. Therefore in our community of East Texas we hear the cries of the alcoholic, drug addicted, and the single woman or mother who has suffered from domestic violence that does not have an advocate. We share the pain of the family that is living in their car, under a bridge or in the near-by wooded area. We are able to provide for East Texas neediest through donations and volunteers in our community
