Pilot Projects is a systems thinking and design consultancy that co-creates sustainable solutions to complex challenges in global systems, cities and the natural environment. Pilot Projects Design Collective LLC is a design and systems thinking firm founded on the belief that even small things well designed and fully realized, can catalyze big systemic changes. The firm, led by founder Scott Francisco, is made up of professional designers, planners, strategists, ecologists and craftspeople, all skilled at creating concrete, inventive and intentional solutions to challenging problems. Our work encompasses a wide range of processes and deliverables, from the design of urban streetscapes, public spaces and new buildings, to brands, organizations and innovative workspaces. We also specialize in co-designing "communities of practice" and catalytic events that inspire collective action and culture change. Our work relies on working closely with clients and partners to co-create solutions to their unique challenges. Our signature tool, SANDBOX, is a collaborative design process that gets people around the same table to make collective decisions. Guided by expert facilitation and visible constraints, it aids in the creation of design solutions that are inclusive and sustainable. We are a team of detail-driven perfectionists. From the studs to the finishing touches, working with architects, builders, contractors, and trades, we create spaces people love.

McMaster Design League

Mac Design League is a student run club at McMaster University. We here at MDL want to increase the exposure of creativity, design and CADing tools to students! We run workshops at McMaster which deal with CADing software and graphics design. Along with this we run an annual event called the Designation! Designathon is a weekend-long competition where students tackle a selection of design problems using computer-aided design (CAD) and 3D printing tools. Students generate solutions, build prototypes, and present to judges - all in the course of 36 hours.

Workshops We deliver youth workshops that focus on developing empathy and creating solutions for existing and emerging challenges in our cities. 1UP Youth City-Builders Program We enable youth city builders to tackle community challenges by providing leadership training, resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities.
