Il Centro, costituito nel 1998 dal Dipartimento di Scienze economiche e aziendali dell’Università degli Studi di Padova, dal Dipartimento di Economia dell’Università Ca’ Foscari e dal Dipartimento di Economia dell’Università degli Studi di Verona, coinvolge nelle proprie attività studiosi di discipline economiche dei Dipartimenti fondatori e di altri centri di ricerca italiani e internazionali e, compatibilmente con il mantenimento di standard di elevata qualità scientifica, persegue la contaminazione interdisciplinare. Le principali attività del Centro sono la Ricerca e la Terza missione. Attraverso le proprie attività e funzioni, il Centro promuove l’attività scientifica di giovani ricercatori e la parità delle opportunità nell’accesso alle posizioni accademiche.

Carnegie Mellon Portugal Program

The Carnegie Mellon Portugal Program is a platform for education, research and innovation that brings together Portuguese universities, research institutions and companies, in cooperation with Carnegie Mellon University (CMU). The partnership was launched in 2006, and was renewed for another five years in 2012 until 2017. Its mission is to place Portugal at the forefront of innovation in key focused areas of Information and Communication Technologies, by promoting cutting-edge research, world-class graduate education and a close collaboration with the Portuguese industry. Its activities are funded by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, supported by the Conselho de Reitores das Universidades Portuguesas, and co-financed by business partners and by CMU. The program leverages a vibrant research community, a solid and close partnership between faculty at Portuguese universities and at CMU, a strong collaboration with industry, and a deep integration in international knowledge networks. The key instruments of the Carnegie Mellon Portugal Program are: talent development of faculty, students and professionals from the industry, through dual degree Ph.D. and Professional Masters programs, and a faculty exchange program; research and innovation in potentially commercializable technologies, through multidisciplinary projects carried out by integrated teams from universities and companies, with an orientation towards new products and services for international markets; the inRes Program; and industry collaboration through an Industry Affiliates program. These instruments are applied in focused areas of ICT where Portugal can gain competitive advantages, continuously under discussion in the scientific and industrial communities.

Geological Society of Denmark

The Geological Society of Denmark was founded in 1893 to promote interest in geology and to establish a forum for geologists and others with interest for geology. The Society arranges meetings with lectures and discussions, arranges excursions, and publishes two publication series. The Bulletin of the Geological Society of Denmark has been published since 1893 and all issues are available as Open Access publications that can be downloaded for free. Furthermore, the Society awards the Steno Medal and administers the Danish Geology Prize and other funds. The Society has approximately 600 members.

Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology

The Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology (IGB) is dedicated to transformative, interdisciplinary genomic research and educational outreach. The Institute's cadre of world-class scientists working in collaborative laboratories coupled with its state-of-the-art equipment create an environment that inspires discovery and innovation at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The IGB houses about 1,000 faculty, students, postdoctoral fellows, and other personnel. IGB members are drawn from a broad range of disciplines, including crop sciences, physics, computer sciences and law.
