Botanicoir

Botanicoir is a leading manufacturer of coir substrate products, with expertise in specific mixes for the horticulture industry. With our own production facilities in Sri Lanka and India, we are able to guarantee a consistent supply and traceability of high-quality products. As a globally operating company, Botanicoir is positioned at the forefront of developments within the industry. We work alongside local agronomists and growers to develop products that provide the optimum substrate solutions for specific crops, grower preferences and existing systems. Our washing and buffering facilities are second to none, and our onsite laboratories mean that we can consistently test all stages of production from raw material through to the finished product. As all of our products are made to order, we can monitor the individual requirements and ensure a product that meets expectations with regards to EC, pH and volume, among many other parameters. Through extensive research with a team of German engineers, we are proud to be the first coir producer to have facilities to mechanically dry our material, without any detrimental effects to the particles. This means that we can guarantee consistent supply throughout the year, regardless of changing and unpredictable weather patterns. Our philosophy is simple: Providing products of the highest quality to our customers and working hand in hand with them to innovate and grow together. Flowers from the Farm

Flowers from the Farm was founded by Gill Hodgson in 2011 and now has over 500 members. We are a not-for-profit network run and administered solely by volunteers. Most members are sole traders running small or micro businesses: farmers, smallholders and gardeners, who are using their knowledge of horticulture and floristry to grow and present a different range of flowers from those available in the supermarkets and the wholesale markets. From Cornwall up to Scotland, and every region in between, these artisan flower farmers are growing old favourites: Sweet Peas, Bells of Ireland, Dahlias and Aquilegia, as well as trying out lots of new varieties. Our members grow for wholesale, selling to retail and event florists: some sell at farmers’ markets and craft fairs: some have farm gate sales, or have teamed up with local shops to sell their bunches and bouquets. The blossoming market for bespoke funeral flowers has opened another opportunity with more people searching for an alternative to the ubiquitous, rigid displays usually on offer. We also have online retail florists, and some utterly brilliant wedding and event florists among our members. Although the majority of British flowers are sold during the summer months: flowers can be grown in Britain all year round. Scented Narcissi start to come out of Cornwall and the Scillies in October: tulips from Lincolnshire are in the shops for Christmas. Flowers from the Farm brings together all these growers and florists and provides local meetings and events: we encourage our members to come together to build displays at all the big flower shows: we hold workshops to improve members’ skills and – equally importantly – we're the place where you’ll make friends with like-minded people who will become your new work colleagues.
