As Canada’s leading child and youth mentoring charity, Big Brothers Big Sisters facilitates life-changing relationships that inspire and empower children and youth to reach their potential, both as individuals and citizens. Our agency has been creating friendships since 1974. We started out matching Big Brothers with Little Brothers and have grown to include a variety of different programs that serve both boys and girls. We are proud of our achievements and continue to strive to be on the leading edge of the Big Brothers Big Sisters movement in Canada.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County, NY

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County, NY is a professionally supported mentoring program for children who can benefit from additional friendship and care. Mentors are volunteers: men and women, ages 18 and older, with a sincere interest in being a friend, guide and support to a child. They are adults from the community who may be a college student, retiree, military personnel or employee in a local business. The children we serve are referred to our program through the parent, caregiver, school, church or community agency. Youth served are ages 6-14 and reside in Orange County, often in a single-parent or guardian-headed household. Our Littles come from various types of home environments and family structures, different socio-economic levels, ethnic backgrounds, neighborhoods and schools across Orange County. Their backgrounds and personalities are unique. They all have a need for friendship with a caring adult. Special initiatives also reach children... * With a parent in state or federal prison. (for ages 6-18) * With a parent deployed on military assignment. * Being raised by a grandparent. Mentoring makes an impact by helping children make better choices, gain confidence, develop better peer and family relationships. Littles who regularly meet with their mentor are: - 46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs - 27% less likely to begin using alcohol - 52% less likely to skip school - 37% less likely to skip a class - more confident of their performance in schoolwork - one-third less likely to hit someone - getting along better with their families

Fans 4 L.I.F.E., Inc.

Fans 4 L.I.F.E., Inc. (Low Income Families Excel) is a non-profit organization which seeks to be a comprehensive resource for low income families. Resources offered to the families will target both individuals and the family as a whole unit. By building up families we aim to improve the community and give each family an equal opportunity to become successful, productive, and self-sufficient. We will empower the family through various programs, classes, seminars, and workshops. Our mission is to strengthen the family unit of at risk families in low income communities while meeting their social, physical, and academic needs. Our pilot program, School Based Mentoring, will focus on the child initially and incorporate the family in the development of that student through family/team building events and continuos support for both the match and the parents. We aim for our students to become confident, optimistic about their future, and productive. We will achieve this goal through research driven practices that help students realize their potential, set goals, and developing strategies to attain those goals. Fans 4 L.I.F.E., Inc. will seek donations of "game gear"​ from professional and collegiate athletic teams and host silent auction events for the fans. The proceeds from these auctions, in addition to personal and corporate donations, and grants will be used to build the resources for our families.

Les travailleurs indépendants, les entrepreneurs, les femmes et hommes d'affaires, les TPE et PME trouvent au Colab des solutions pour travailler seul ou en équipe avec une flexibilité qui optimise l'efficacité de leurs projets. Mais CO.LAB c'est aussi et surtout un véritable accélérateur de succès. Partageant profondément la croyance que le pouvoir n'est plus dans les mains de celui qui sait, mais plutôt de celui qui partage, notre mission est de dénicher ceux qui pensent et implémentent l'innovation dans tous les secteurs d'activités.
