Since 1989 I have been working with companies to reduce their utility costs. I have worked with over 300 different companies throughout the United States, Philippines, China, Mauritius, Canada, Mexico and Europe. These companies have included manufacturers that produce cookies, motors, compressors, lumber, paper, chemicals, forging, semiconductors, and aircraft, to manufacturers that produced missiles. The common thread in all projects, regardless of what they produce, was the energy required to produce their product and the daily energy waste that was occurring. EAM was able to identify that daily energy waste and eliminate it by installing our custom designed Energy Management Program. In all cases energy savings were an average of 22% of the annual energy costs. All savings come from the client’s existing buildings, equipment and manpower. EAM does not sell any type of equipment or offer any capital expenditures. Our program provides our clients the tools needed to give energy the organization and control needed to reduce the daily energy waste. You already have controls in place for labor, inventory, and work in process, however, most companies believe that energy is part of doing business and falls in the category of fixed costs with inflationary increases. This concept is so wrong and is affecting your bottom line every day. Every month companies are paying as much as 15-30% more than they should be. Buying new energy efficient equipment is not the answer and may not save you anything, especially if the equipment is allowed to remain on even though it is not needed. This scenario is an example, but one that I have personally seen so many times.
