Teaching Pippi
Teaching Pippi is a private tutoring company offering K-12 academic support in a variety of subjects. We are conveniently located in the Twin Cities and work across multiple school districts. At Teaching Pippi, we believe that learning is for everyone!
Teaching Pippi is named after the beloved literary character, Pippi Longstocking. Pippi Longstocking encapsulates the bravery, kindness, and curiosity that is innate in us all from a young age. Pippi loves to learn in her daily life but feels out of place and disengaged in school. As an educator, I ask myself, "how can school be a place for Pippi?"
Students like Pippi are actually the best kind of students. Pippi is brave, and learning is vulnerable and feels scary. Pippi is kind, and learning asks us to attend to the world and others. Pippi is curious, and learning is an endless source of questions.
Educators are also students and carry these experiences in themselves. This shared experience is what makes the relationship between the educator and student so vital in the learning process. People learn most through meaningful connections; connections to others and to themselves. Building these connections is at the core of the Teaching Pippi model.
Come brave, come shy, come curious, come bored, come happy, come upset. We will meet you where you are. We will learn together.
