The Fung Fellowship for Wellness & Technology Innovations is a two-year program for highly motivated, innovative, and visionary undergraduate students at UC Berkeley. As a collaboration between UC Berkeley's School of Public Health, College of Engineering, and wellness technology company Blue Goji, the fellowship is a new approach to tackling today's health and wellness challenges for at-risk youth, veterans, and seniors. A cohort of undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds and disciplines are selected as Fung Fellows, and have the unique opportunity to be a part of the solution. We seek to reduce opioid misuse, isolation, unnecessary healthcare costs and improve overall recovery. Avexia's Recovery Management Engine 24/7, clinically-moderated peer community, a first of its kind for athletes and individuals with active lifestyles, offers an anonymous space for individuals to share experiences and feelings with forum support and thereby decreases stigma as well as creates the effect of online disinhibition where people gain the skills and encouragement needed to adapt healthier behaviors.
