ABIMO

A ABIMO, Associação Brasileira da Indústria de Dispositivos Médicos é a entidade representante da indústria brasileira de produtos para a saúde que promove o crescimento sustentável do setor no mercado nacional e internacional. Fundada em 1962, a ABIMO nasceu a partir da ideia de 25 fabricantes de produtos médicos e odontológicos. Eles decidiram se unir para fortalecer, organizar e regulamentar o segmento. Na época, o grupo mantinha o foco de trabalhar em prol da indústria nacional e garantir a qualidade e a segurança dos equipamentos médico-hospitalares produzidos no país. Nestes anos de trabalho a ABIMO expandiu suas ações de suporte à cadeia produtiva, através de conselhos e grupos de trabalho, que respondem por todos os aspectos técnicos, operacionais e associativos do segmento. Já são mais de 50 anos de histórias. E para os próximos 50 anos, o compromisso da ABIMO é continuar trabalhando para promover cada vez mais a integração do setor de equipamentos médicos e odontológicos com os objetivos da saúde pública.

The Faculty of Clinical Informatics

The Faculty of Clinical Informatics is being established as the professional membership body for all clinical informaticians across the UK. The Royal College of General Practitioners and the Royal College of Physicians have been key in its initiation, and the NHS Paperless 2020 Building a Digital Ready Workforce programme has provided supporting resources. The Faculty recently elected its first Council and Officers, who took over responsibility from the Shadow Board in June 2018, and a list of Founding Fellows and Fellows can be found on the website. The Faculty will open for further membership categories later this year. Safe, effective and efficient healthcare achieved through the best use of information and information technology.

Smile Train is the world’s largest cleft charity with a sustainable approach to a single, solvable problem: cleft lip and palate. Many children around the world are living with untreated clefts. Most have difficulties eating, breathing, hearing, and speaking. Cleft repair surgery is simple, and the transformation is immediate. Our sustainable model provides training, funding and resources to empower local doctors in 90+ countries to provide 100%-free cleft repair surgery and comprehensive cleft care in their own communities. We use the “teach a man to fish” model, which focuses on training local medical professionals. Those doctors then go on to train other doctors creating a long-term, sustainable system. Patients see their transformed smile for the first time, parents cry tears of joy, lives and communities are changed forever. As a result of our efficiency and with the support of our donors and partners around the world, Smile Train has transformed the lives of more than two million children by giving them the power of a smile.

CDCH - The Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home

As a leading animal rescue charity in the Cotswolds we have cared for thousands of abandoned, abused and neglected animals. We rescue them from sometimes unimaginable conditions, find them new families and ensure they have a loving home for the rest of their lives. We also provide access to veterinary services for the most vulnerable animals in our community, ensuring no animal is left untreated because of cost. In September 2016 we opened our new rehoming centre in Cam, Gloucestershire. We provide 24/7 care and at full capacity can take in 36 cats and 27 dogs.
