FORT BEND COUNTY WOMEN'S CENTER, INC.

Fort Bend Women’s Center has been bringing healing and hope to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault since 1980. Our mission is to help survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault and their children to achieve safety and self-sufficiency, while striving to prevent violence against women. We are the only dedicated domestic violence and sexual assault emergency shelter and crisis hotline in Fort Bend County. In addition to these crisis intervention services, we are also the largest regional provider of non-residential services such as counseling, case management, advocacy and other support services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Fort Bend Women’s Center is also a major provider of housing programs, including short to long term assistance, for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Our clients are primarily from Fort Bend and Harris counties though our services are open to any survivor of domestic violence and/or sexual assault. We have a history of successfully identifying and adopting innovative approaches to victim services, driven by our commitment to providing the most effective support possible to the survivors we serve. Examples include our use of positive reinforcement, motivational interviewing, the early adoption of mobile advocacy and the introduction of neurofeedback training and behavioral therapy, to assist clients living with Traumatic Brain Injury, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and/or other mental health disorders. We are currently the only agency to offer this treatment to domestic violence and sexual assault victims.

Inspired in service to our state’s farmworkers, today CHD serves people of low income from many walks of life—giving 25,000 people a year in 31 northern California counties a hand up to the American Dream.

Centre de santé communautaire Hamilton/Niagara

The Centre de santé communautaire Hamilton/Niagara is a Community Health Centre established in 1992. Our Centre is a multi-service agency providing health and social services to clients. Our Welland site serves the Niagara region, and the Hamilton site serves Hamilton and Burlington. The Centre de santé communautaire Hamilton/Niagara has adopted a holistic approach to the delivery of its programs; thus French-speaking people of all ages in the Hamilton and Niagara regions have access to a wide array of services. Our programs and services have a particular emphasis on disease prevention and health promotion achieved through the provision of information and education. Services vary slightly between Hamilton and Welland according to the needs and resources in each community. VIA Centers for Neurodevelopment is dedicated to helping people overcome the challenges of autism through innovative, evidence-based programs in education, outreach, and adult services.
